Central Heights senior cross country runner Fletcher Colgan crosses the finish line on Monday at the UIL Class 3A Boys Cross Country Meet at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. Colgan improved his regional time, finishing 51st out of 124 runners at the meet.

The Douglass Indian boys cross country team provided a strong showing this week at the UIL State Cross Country Championships at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. As a team, the Indians finished eighth, led by sophomore Garrett Karns, who ran 18th out of 123 competitors to lead the charge.
Eleven Nacogdoches area male runners competed against the state’s best, while three females has strong showings, led by San Augustine junior Charlisa Teagle, who finished 20th overall.
